Merry Christmas! 2008

I seems like only holidays and special occasions can yank me off my duties and scribble something here. Don't even have time to make fancy graphics, and share cool & funny stuff too ... not till mid year anyway :)

It's getting cornier and cornier to say "I'm still around" :P for now ... it's better to just plurk ya around! he he ...

Halloween 2008

I wanted to post something special, coz as you know I love Halloween :D Even with my busy schedule (working on RPG) it'd be the perfect time to come back (even for a while) to post "something", unfortunately the things I was suppose to post won't make it for this halloween :(

And so I'll just post something that is a favorite from my childhood :D (taking the easy way out :P)

RPG

Hi,

Whew! My blog has been really lonely for a while, but with good reason! I've been busy for almost a year now working on the RPG project. What is RPG you ask? It's the Philippine's first full length CG movie :D I wanted to post this yesterday but was too busy and tired working on the teaser, which will be launched later at the Ragnarok World Championship at the World Trade Center.

I know it's kinda short notice, but if you could ... go! You won't get the chance to see the teaser trailer (with good quality) anywhere else. Not even on our own website ... the online, cinema and the broadcast versions won't be available till next year, so again ... go! :D

Original story, Philippine setting, Mind blowing animation and effects! and my promise that it's not baduy ;P What more can you ask for? :D Support our own, spread the word on this :)

RPG will be released on 2009. Visit our site. http:\\therpgmovie.com

Ahem ... hi?

How do i start this? I just passed by to let people know I'm still alive ... that I'm still just very much busy with a project (expect hanggang next year panay paramdam lang muna ako ;P). Anyway everything's good, aside from work I've still had my weekend adventures ... I can't stay to write a long post so I just decided to give you sort of a road map of what's been "up" with me on my weird weekends.

So I've attended 3 weddings in the last couple of months, 4 actually considering my uncle and aunt's renewal of vows. I was able to attend toy con, in fact my "inaanak" Chii won for best chibi award again! :D

I'm into learning many new things right now ... I don't know what's up ... just that I want an upgrade for myself, not that anythings wrong with me ... just that I have to give time to the things I still want to learn. And that time is apparently now ;P As seen in the photo I recently taken up learning how to skateboard, this was a month ago ... I already broke and replaced my first set of trucks from trying to Ollie. Oh yeah, I've also lost around 20 lbs. he he ...

Anyway since work generally requires net access I've taken up plurking, since I can't maintain this blog regularly anymore because of the work load ;P Give me a holla there if you have an account ;D

Not so holy ...

Holy week. That one spiritual week in a year when Filipino Catholics / Christians reflect upon their actions, if I'm correct this is also the period of the year when crime rates are at it's lowest (hey, thieves got to reflect to you know).
Every year our family usually joins traditional meaningful activities like visita iglesias, processions and stuff ... it was not different this year. We had our visita iglesia on Maundry Thursday, and attended a 7 last words mass on Good Friday.
Before the holy week started I bought a huge number of DVDs to watch, as we don't have fast internet at home (in fact I'm typing at a net cafe at a mall right now, because I can't stand the slowness of dial up). It seems like the devil had a different idea for us that day, as we've mistakenly chosen the movie Lust / Caution as an action flick. I've heard the movie to be controversial, and had received a number of awards ... I should have taken the title literally! and heeded the word "caution" on the movie title. Because instead of being treated to what we expected to be either an action flick or a re-enacment of significant cultural history, I watched what can be described as a X-rated porn flick with my parents on a Good Friday!!!! :S
Was it a good movie? Yeah, I thought it was ... but the timing and the company I had watching it couldn't have been worse. Cripes! what was I thinking? It felt like everyone just waited for someone to kill the dvd player or suggest to watch another movie, but it would just make the situation more awkward so no one did so. It was my own "penitensya" this year, as I cringed when the full frontal sex scenes started (and oh there was more than 2 lasting for 5 minutes or so each ... yaaargh!!!!).
I'm just glad that's over.
Anyway, Happy Easter everyone!!! :D

Unplugged

I just came to sweep the floor and remove some cobwebs. Works eating me whole, but thankfully I still have a life. I may have enough time to surf the net, blog, or even visit other blogs (sorry guys, I'll try to make time you all ... ). Posting stuff here and reading other blogs has always been a form of stress release, but nowadays I find myself diverting my attention to other things non-cyber (I just feel the need to unplug myself from the system after a days work in front of a computer lately).

So what's up? The past few weekends have been busy with parties it feels like I haven't really been taking a rest ;P

Here's a few pictures of Alex's daughter Sam's children's party we attended.
We pimped up the Jollibee (Brats) hats into custom hats he he ...

That's me Mr. Doodle, as the kids had their parlor games.

The next weeks after that I devoted to making and searching for materials I needed to attend a debut/costume party in Lucban, Quezon. I dressed up as this guy ...

or at least close to looking like him, what I lacked in costume I made for in attitude ... I was in character in most of the pictures he he ... and oh yeah I grew a beard for this, I have to say I won't grow one that thick again ;P

Oh well, that's all the time I have now ... just so you know, I'm not closing this blog! ;D

Gift daw 2 and more

This is a follow up to my "gift daw" post plus more. It's been two weeks now since our family decided to give up our life sized image of the Virgin Mary, I've stated my that I don't find anything wrong with keeping reminders of our faith ... I just feel that extreme worship is a form of idolatry. And that's not even the worst part, I also feel that some people take advantage and makes these things a business (all in my other post).

After months of observation and research by my cousin, the family finally decided keeping "them" wasn't worth it. As a priest my cousin spoke to even said that images / statues in their church only has 2 sets of interchanging dresses, unlike the "gift" we kept for a good 10+ years which required annual changing and celebrations. Imagine that? I've been telling my parents to give it up like forever, that there's no shame losing face having paid for unnecessary expenses for over 10 years.

A cheap dress cost P5,000 (and I know we only bought the cheapest type in the later years), the party that goes with it is perhaps more than P5,000 having to feed tons of people. Doing service for the Lord is one thing, being swindled is another. I'm really glad my family has finally woken up ;)

On other things, The Brock Lesnar versus Frank Mir bout has finally ended, sadly my bet Brock lost ... but not badly ;D Actually he dominated the whole fight beating Mir to a pulp, but the experienced ex-champ showed experience and caught him with a knee bar ... he wasn't damaged at all! It was a good fight, the better man won but it showed Brock's potential ... now no one can say that he is a fake fighter having almost beaten Mir if not for the unpopular break made by the referee. (Watch the fight! ;D)

Lastly, take a glimpse of Iron man's super bowl teaser! So awesome! :D

Chop Suey 2

It's finally the weekends, I would have wanted to drop by more often but I can't nowadays. Anyway, as the post title suggests, these are again some of the more interesting random stuff that I've come across ...

Possible extinction of the male species?

Science does it again, taking the first step towards an abomination in the eyes of God/many (including me). Scientists has apparently created sperm cells from female embryo, in a research aimed to allow gay and lesbian couples to reproduce among themselves (if all these experiments pan out, a gay man may donate skin cells that could be used to make eggs, which could then be fertilized by his partner’s sperm and placed into the uterus of a surrogate mother.).

The female sperm however lacks the Y chromosome which very well mean that all it can only produce females only. It's still early to say if this would really work but I'm just bothered why money is put in these kinds of research instead of cures/solutions for other problems or diseases. With millions of orphans around, why not just adopt?

Heartache Leave

The Tokyo based Hime & Company implements heartache leaves which allows staff to cry themselves out and return to work refreshed. I'm sure this leave would help many people who are suffering and cannot function at work properly, but it could also mean additional leaves that everyone can enjoy ;P Yay! heartache leave ;D like it would catch on ...

Pro-wrestling's pride

Former WWE champion Brock Lesnar faces Former UFC champion Frank Mir tomorrow (Feb. 2 U.S. time) in a match every fight fan wants to see.

I posted about this before, wrestling fans want to see Lesnar win ... MMA/Pro wrestling hating fans want to see him lose so badly that this will probably make it as THE fight of the year. If he wins then maybe there will be less bashing on how you don't need skill in "fake" fights.

I'm rooting for Brock! :D That's it for now ... see ya next time ;D
